Objectives

The objectives of the Mesa Communities Learning in Partnership (CLIP) Initiative are:

  • To bring all stakeholders — internal partnership audiences as well as city-wide stakeholders — to the table with ideas, suggestions and creative thinking to ensure the success of Mesa CLIP.
  • To analyze the barriers that prevent student success and identify actions that will drive change in our systems to achieve:
    • Community-wide commitment to the goal of post-secondary success for low- income youth
    • Data-driven strategies to ensure certificate and degree completion
    • Sustainable partnerships that link MCC, MPS, COM and other stakeholders
    • Changes to policies and practices to foster student success
  • To encourage and actively engage low-income adults (ages 16-26) to commit to and to complete their post secondary education.

The planning process will review four stages through which low-income youth progress:
    • Pre-college education
    • Transition to college
    • College education and experiences
    • Credential completion
    • Placement in the workforce
  • To build robust community awareness to support Mesa CLIP in seeking the implementation grant and beyond through targeted internal and external communications.
