Objectives
The objectives of the Mesa Communities Learning in Partnership (CLIP) Initiative are:
-
To bring all stakeholders — internal partnership audiences as well as city-wide stakeholders — to the table with ideas, suggestions and creative thinking to ensure the success of Mesa CLIP.
-
To analyze the barriers that prevent student success and identify actions that will drive change in our systems to achieve:
-
Community-wide commitment to the goal of post-secondary success for low- income youth
-
Data-driven strategies to ensure certificate and degree completion
-
Sustainable partnerships that link MCC, MPS, COM and other stakeholders
-
Changes to policies and practices to foster student success
-
-
To encourage and actively engage low-income adults (ages 16-26) to commit to and to complete their post secondary education.
The planning process will review four stages through which low-income youth progress:-
Pre-college education
-
Transition to college
-
College education and experiences
-
Credential completion
-
Placement in the workforce
-
-
To build robust community awareness to support Mesa CLIP in seeking the implementation grant and beyond through targeted internal and external communications.
