Background
Post-secondary education outcomes in the U.S. are falling behind those in many industrialized countries. New solutions are needed to address these challenges.
Education is an equalizer for individuals and a key to a skilled workforce. An increased number of graduates with certificates and degrees will enhance economic development and improve the quality of life in Mesa.
The Communities Learning in Partnership (CLIP) Initiative introduces a new approach to increasing post-secondary success. The unique commitment and collaboration of our partnership - City of Mesa, Mesa Public Schools (K-12) and Mesa Community College - will help ensure success in fulfilling the goal of doubling the number of low-income adults (16-26 years of age) who earn a post-secondary degree or certificate with value in the marketplace. We will work towards this goal in concert with help from our stakeholders.
Completion of a degree or certificate that leads to employment is central to the mission of the partners, Mesa Community College, Mesa Public Schools and the City of Mesa, is central to the mission of CLIP.
