Mesa CLIP Initiative
Fall of 2009, the partnership of Mesa Community College (MCC), Mesa Public Schools (MPS) and the City of Mesa (COM) was awarded a $250,000 planning grant by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the National League of Cities (NLC) to develop implementation strategies to fulfill the goal of doubling the number of low-income adults who earn a post-secondary degree or certificate with value in the marketplace by the time they reach age 26.
The Mesa CLIP implementation proposal will be submitted to the Gates Foundation and the NLC on May 1 and will compete for a three-year,$3 million implementation grant that will be awarded in June 2010.
